On a wet Saturday in north Suffolk Stonham's legion of intrepid explorers found themselves trekking to Worlington's 2nd XI. Starting the game in light rain Stonham made a slow start. Charlie Tunstall went early for a duck, caught at square leg. Rob Wrinch also showed signs of rustiness, and could have been caught at cover from the last ball before a long rain delay. Re-taking the field nearly an hour later a result looked unlikely, but play continued. Johnny Hails carried on his early season form and looked particularly strong on the leg side. He put on 38 in a partnership of over 80 with Wrinch for the third wicket before top edging to midwicket for an easy catch. Simon Edgar soon picked up where Hails had left off, continuing his form and smashing 37 of his own. Despite this, he was a passenger to the carnage that was occuring at the other end. Wrinch was showing all of the shots that have made him such a consistent performer over the last few years. He managed 23 fours and three sixes in a monster knock of 147. Wrinch and Edgar's partnership was worth no less than 139 before they tumbled in quick succession in search of a completly unassailable target. Ed Player and Paul Adams, both playing their first match of the season, made it to double figures, while Stephen Lewis and Dave Eade were left occupying the crease at the end of the innings on a similar score.

Buoyed by their large total Stonham took to the field rapidly after tea (8/10), looking to utilise all the available sunlight in a bid to win the match. Worlington feeling rather gloomy and dispondent about catching Stonham's grand total in the dull and wet conditions, began slowly. They limped along unimpressively until Smith played up-ish-ly and David Eade picked a catch out of the air off John Humphreys' bowling. Overton was not playing to his full capability, but gave Worlington a chance to play out for either rain or bad light. With the rain coming down and light deteriorating Stonham missed chances to take another man. Bacon was finally dismissed for a non-match-winning 31 after a careful catch on the boundary by Rob Wrinch from Jeff Lewis' bowling. Shortly after Bacon strolled back to the clubhouse, Overton was also dismissed, but sadly for Stonham, this damp squib of a match was eventually abandoned.

Stonham's next fixture is away versus Stowupland - a local crunch match.
