A crushing 143 from Rob Wrinch set Earl Stonham on course for a crushing 182 run victory over Great Yeldham.

In a game reduced to 35 overs-a-side to allow for forecasted showers Yeldham won the toss and put Stonham in to bat. Stonham got off to a flying start with Wrinch hitting his first of 10 sixes in just the second over, and Tunstall smashing three early boundaries of his own. Tunstall was soon run out by some sharp fielding, but this was a rare bright spot on an otherwise unimpressive session in the field. Johnny Hails and Duncan Turner were both out after big swishes, Hails after missing a straight ball and Turner after being caught deep in the field by the only Yeldham fielder to come out of the innings with any credit. Yeldham put down chance after chance and could have heavily restricted Stonham's score if they had held more of their opportunities. Simon Edgar joined Wrinch as the innings began to look like it could sway and added some much needed stability before playing onto his own stumps for a hard fought 18. Edgar was replaced by Stephen Lewis and soon after Wrinch went into overdrive, peppering the boundary with relentlessly powerful hitting, passing the century mark for the second time this season. However, he was not finished and only fell in the last over when attempting another 'big one'. Lewis added an unbeaten 31 of his own as Stonham finished on 243 for six.

Yeldham came out to bat with the intention of attacking the total from the off. After three boundaries in the first over Brown fell trying to hit Tom Prior once too many. This started a delightful early spell from Prior and Bob Wrinch yielded four wickets in the first five overs. This included the wicket of the stubborn grinder Andrianates, who was bowled by Wrinch. This was the beginning of the end for Yeldham who capitulated with concerning ease. The only real resistance was put up by M Holt who batted intelligently and finished unbeated on 24. Prior was the pick of the bowlers, despite some difficulties with his run up, and he finished with four more wickets to add to this season's total. Jeff Lewis and Stephen Lewis mopped up the remains of the tail as Yeldham crawled to 61 all out.
