Worlington visited Earl Stonham for the second meeting of the side this season. Despite the good conditions Worlington asked Stonham to bat first.

The opening Worlington bowling was tight, and after a solid start Ed Player eventually fell for 6 to B Cole. Cole was easily the pick of the bowling attack, bowling consistently and with reasonable pace. His spell of 13 overs, 2 wickets for 27 runs was more than deserved for the effort and application he put in. Rob Wrinch batted well against the best of the bowling but was Cole's second victim, falling lbw to his second last ball of the 13 over spell. By this time R Wrinch had amassed 58, and his partnership with John Hails had set a solid platform for Stonham to build upon. John Hails and Stephen Lewis then built another partnership of their own both passing their half centuries. A visibly tiring Hails eventually fell to a stumping for 65, being replaced by Simon Edgar. S Edgar and S Lewis maintained and accelerated the run rate even further until Lewis fell for 66 playing a rash shot in the second last over. S Edgar finished unbeaten on 27, while Stonham had amassed a daunting 254 for 4.

Worlington's run chase started badly when Jeff Lewis snared a good catch from the bowling of Charlie Tunstall to remove J Bayes. Even at this early stage it was quite clear that Worlington were going to struggle to reach Stonham's total. Once P Peachey (20) had been removed courtesy of a John Humpreys caught and bowled, and S Smith (36) had been run out by a superb bit of fielding from C Tunstall on the boundary only B Cole (37) and S Collen (13) batting at number 10 managed to make it to double figures. The bowling was of very high quality - Humpreys (1-24), Jeff Lewis (2-41) and T Prior (3-45) all put in good performances with the ball. Worlington fell 111 runs short, only managing to card 143 all out completing a comfortable victory for Stonham.
